Product Description
The 400 series group of stainless steels has an 11 percent chromium and 1-percent manganese increase, above the 300 series group. The 400 series is susceptible to rust and corrosion under some conditions. Heat-treating will harden the 400 series. These are in both sheet cuttings and shredded forms.
- SS-403-The 403 Series offers heat resistance and a scaling temperature of about 1300°F. It is corrosion and heat resistant 12% Cr martensitic stainless steel.
- SS-405– This grade contains 12% chromium stainless steel designed to be used in the as-welded condition. Unlike the other grades of 12% chromium stainless, 405 is not vulnerable to extensive hardening through air cooling from high temperatures.
- SS-409-This grade of Stainless Steel contains Cr-10.50-13.50, C-0.05, Mn-0.55, Si-0.50, P-0.50, Al-0.5, Ti-Q 45.
- SS-410-410 contains a minimum of 11.5% -13.50% chromium, C-0.15 %, Mn 1%, Si 0.03%, S-0.03%, P-0.04%
- SS-430-It contains 14-18% Chromium, C-0.12%, Mn- 1%, Si 1%, Phosphorus 0.04%. 430 are specified for flat rolled product (plate, sheet and coil)
- SS-431- This grade of Stainless Steel contains Chromium-15-17%, Nickel-1.25-2.50%, Carbon-0.20%, Mn-1, Silicon-1, and Phosphorus-0.04.
